Does Instagram Notify Someone When You Unfollow Them?

No. Instagram does not send a notification when you unfollow someone. The person won’t get an alert, a message, or any pop-up. Their follower count simply drops by one — and most people never notice a single change in a number that size.

So how do people know they were unfollowed?
