The short version

UnfollowScan reads and compares your Instagram export on your own device. The export file is not sent to our servers. Scan results and their source follower/following lists may be saved in browser session storage for recovery after checkout or a page reload. A baseline you explicitly save stays in this browser’s local storage after the tab closes, until replaced or the site’s browser data is cleared.

What we collect

• Your Instagram export: processed locally only. Never transmitted.
• Local records: scan results and saved baselines can contain usernames from your export. Clearing this site’s browser data removes those local records and may prevent payment-return recovery or comparisons with the previous baseline.
• Email reminders: if you ask for an export reminder, we store your email address and reminder time only to provide that reminder.
• Payment: handled by Stripe. We never see your card details. Stripe may notify us when a purchase succeeds so the paid feature and purchase analytics can be confirmed.
• Basic analytics: page-view, product-use, and purchase events may be collected to improve the site and understand ad performance. These analytics do not include your Instagram export or the usernames inside it.

We are not Instagram

UnfollowScan is independent and not affiliated with Meta or Instagram. We do not ask for your Instagram password and we do not access your account.
