How to See Who Doesn’t Follow You Back on Threads
Updated June 2026
Threads, like its sibling Instagram, won’t hand you a list of who doesn’t follow you back. There’s no built-in feature and no notification. But because Threads accounts run on Meta, you can use the same safe trick: export your own data and compare your following and followers lists.
Why Threads hides this
It’s the same story as Instagram — Meta simply doesn’t surface non-follower lists in the app. Anyone who “tracks” it is comparing their own data over time, not using a secret feature. And as on Instagram, you should avoid any app that asks you to log in to your Threads/Meta account — that’s how accounts get flagged.
The safe method (no password)
- Open Instagram/Threads → Settings → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information.
- Include your Threads data (followers and following), format JSON or HTML, range All time.
- Download the ZIP Meta emails you.
- Compare the lists — anyone in “following” but not “followers” doesn’t follow you back.
Do the comparison instantly
Reading the export by hand is tedious. UnfollowScan reads the ZIP in your browser and shows who doesn’t follow you back — no login, nothing uploaded. It works the same way for your Threads and Instagram data. New to exporting? See how to download your data.
One caveat
As on Instagram, a “non-follower” might be a deactivated or new account, not a deliberate snub — so glance before you unfollow. And if you want to trim your Threads following, do it gently; the same action-block rules apply across Meta apps.
