How to See Who Unfollowed You on Instagram (2026)

“Doesn’t follow me back” and “unfollowed me” are different questions. One Instagram export can compare your following list with your followers at export time. To find usernames that disappeared from your followers, you need an older list and a newer one.

UnfollowScan makes both comparisons locally in your browser. It does not retrieve your account’s past follower history or monitor Instagram between exports.

What the two comparisons mean

Use complete exports for the same profile. Missing list parts or mixing profiles can change the result. The comparisons are:

• Following − Followers = people you follow who don’t follow you back.
• Older followers − newer followers = usernames present before but missing now.

Your first scan: get a count and save a baseline

1. Follow the export guide: choose one Instagram profile, Followers and following, All time, and JSON or HTML.
2. When Meta makes the download available, select the original ZIP in the scanner. If it was extracted, select all follower parts and the following file together.
3. With no saved baseline, the result counts accounts you follow that are missing from the exported followers list.
4. Click Save this export as baseline. Wait for the saved confirmation before relying on it for a later comparison.

Saving a baseline is optional and does not require payment. It stores the snapshot in this browser. Private browsing, clearing site data, switching browsers or blocked storage can make it unavailable. Keep your original exports if you need your own long-term record.

Your next scan: compare the same profile over time

Download a newer export of the same profile and scan it in the same browser. When a baseline exists, UnfollowScan automatically compares its followers with the new list. Review that result before replacing the baseline. A single baseline is stored per browser; it does not identify or separate multiple Instagram accounts for you.

Free counts, paid usernames

Scanning shows counts for free. The username list and CSV require a verified $5 USD one-time payment. Keep the checkout-return tab open for recovery. If verification is delayed, use the retry or support option before paying again; a return URL alone does not unlock the list.

What a missing username does not prove

The comparison reports a difference between files, not the reason for that difference. A changed username, unavailable account or incomplete export can also affect the lists. It cannot tell you the exact time of an unfollow or prove that someone deliberately removed you. Check the current profile before acting on a result.
